In the coming weeks, our next programs will become part of the newly emerging Psychosynthesis Institute (Pi) offering tools for personal and social transformation. We will be a gently growing an international home for training, reflection, and resources in psychosynthesis, now and for the future.
The heart and commitment to the work remains the same, as a small, international learning community committed to depth, integration, and the careful unfolding of a living tradition for a new generation.
Our Board Certified Psychosynthesis Coach Training
Deeply rooted in the foundations, maps, models, and core experiences of psychosynthesis, along with allied psychologies, neuro-science and social transformation work, our CCE accredited Board Certified Coach training program will continue. Integrating personal inner work with practical coaching competencies. This program is designed to support your growth both in your personal life creation and as a practitioner.
Through an experiential, relational, and ethically grounded model, you will engage along the purpose-filled manifestation model and stages of the 'Act of Will' infused with the 7 core experiences of Psychosynthesis, a path for personal/professional growth and a method for guiding/coaching others.
Along with this you will receive support, tools and resources to discover and build confidence in your own coaching voice for meaningful practice, purposeful presence, and inner transformation.
What Is Psychosynthesis?
Psychosynthesis is a transpersonal psychology that honors and describes the depths and heights of the psyche.
Psychosynthesis is an approach that brings psychology back to its pre-reductionish origins. Psychology began as a study of the soul: "psyche": soul, spirit joined with "logos". The earliest beginnings of psychology were concerned with the essence of our inner life; a larger field of meaning making beyond the material, what we might now call the transpersonal.
Roberto Assagioli, the founder of psychosynthesis was an Italian physican/psychiatrist who created the theory of psychosynthesis during the same time as Freud and Jung were developing their psychologies. Originally a Freudian psychoanalyst, he wanted to develop a more comprehensive and dynamic way of describing human consciousness.
Dr. Assagioli created a model to describe this, often called: the "Egg Diagram."
+ The Lower Unconscious is where past experience, instincts, conditioning, wounds and unprocessed emotional material reside.
+The Middle Unconscious is the place of day-to-day awareness that can be accessed as thoughts, memories, emotions, sensations, skills, ideas, etc.
+ The Higher Unconscious (or SuperConscious) is where we can access our highest capacities: values, purpose, the transpersonal experiences of spirit, love, joy.
And, at the core, the center, of the psyche is the field of consciousness - the Self - which is the place of 'contentless awareness' and will.
The process of psychosynthesis integrates all aspects of the psyche to create a more fully conscious life.
Assagioli described the work of psychosynthesis as more expansive than depth psychologies. While honoring the lower unconscious, psychosynthesis pays significant attention to the transpersonal, heights of consciousness:
"We try to build an elevator which will allow a person access to every level of his personality.
After all, a building with only a basement is very limited.
We want to open up the terrace where you can sun-bathe or look at the stars.
Our concern is the synthesis of all areas of the personality."
With the embrace of the transpersonal dimention, psychosynthesis is often described as a "spiritual psychology" or a "psychology of the soul" because it offers theory and tools to guide our exploration and integration of all the aspects of what it means to grow whole in our individual and collective humanity.
Psychosynthesis invites us towards an understanding and deeper connection to our true self. It embraces the transcendent, the day-to-day, the darkness, the light.
Psychosynthesis recognizes the capacity in each of us to connect to the beauty and joy of lived experience - to grow whole in our unfolding.
Our accredited Psychosynthesis Coach Training program offers 120 hours of hybrid, distance learning training, providing you with the Psychosynthesis Life Coach (PLC) credential, in fulfillment of the maximum training hours required to apply with the Center for Credentialing and Education (CCE) to become a Board Certified Coach (BCC).

Synthesis Center San Francisco emerged from a collaborative partnership with the Synthesis Center, Amherst.
This collaboration resulted in a synthesis of collective experience spanning decades of work with psychosynthesis as therapists, teachers and coaches.
What has evolved reflects a co-creation informed by a convergence of experience, practice and perspectives.
Now, as Synthesis Center San Francisco transitions to the Psychosynthesis Institute (Pi) offering tools for personal and soical transformation, we celebrate and honor our work together as the torch is passed to a new generation.
Our global community of students, facilitators and coaches are continuing to engzge in the shaping of Assagioli's vision for a "psychosynthesis of humanity".

People from a variety of backgrounds have joined our programs, including coaches, therapists, healing, mental health and medical professionals, as well as participants that come from other occupations and careers, and are rich with life experience, some who are well versed in psychosynthesis and others who are discovering psychosynthesis for the first time.

Our psychosynthesis life coach training is a synthesis of the rich framework and tradition of psychosynthesis and best practices in the field of life coaching. We also incorporate new research and allied approaches from psychology and neuroscience to enhance personal and professional growth.
Psychosynthesis offers methods for enhanced self-awareness, personal growth and heightened professional effectiveness. The theory and methods of psychosynthesis facilitate and support the capacity and power in each of us to manifest our individual and collective potential.

Our psychosynthesis facilitators are a diverse group of psychosynthesis practitioners from the US, Canada, EU and Mauritious, who are actively engaged in creating experiential training activities and content to support our participants in bringing psychosynthesis to a new generation. Susan Jewkes Allen, Founder and Lead Teacher
Susan is deeply committed to bringing psychosynthesis to a new generation as a teacher, coach and mentor. In her early career, as a clinician and psychotherapist, she formed an understanding about how work is a key determinant of health: physical, emotional, social, economic and spiritual well-being. This led to a new phase as a consultant on work, business, health and entrepreneurship with governments, non-profits, education sectors, and businesses in the U.S., Canada, Europe, Africa and Asia. She continues to maintain a small private practice, coaching leaders and emerging leaders in technology, business and the arts, who want to make a positive impact in life, work and the larger world. Susan is also the co-founder, with Marcela Andaluz, of the soon to launch: Psychosynthesis Institute for Self Development and Social Transformation.

Marcela guides, organizes our initiatives, and manages the operations as we transition to a Psychosynthesis Institute.
She grew up looking up at the sky and the stars, imagining trips to outer space and wondering the impact it had in our lives,. Her first memories are of having the sense of wanting to help people with their problems. As an adult, she first found astrology and became a Certified Astrological Counselor. This began to answer many of the questions she had about the stars and people, but the main gift, she says, is that it gave her the discovery of Psychosynthesis.
Marcela lives her call of self as a Psychosynthesis Life Coach, as a member of our Facilitator Training Circle, and providing invaluable support to our psychosynthesis students, training programs and intitiatives, fulfilling that childhood dream of helping people.
Dr. Dorothy (Didi) Firman, Ed.D., LMHC, BCC
Senior Teacher for 2025-26 Monday Cohort
Didi Firman has worked in the field of psychology, counseling and education for more than thirty years. She has traveled and taught nationally and internationally. Didi's specialties include: psychosynthesis, a spiritual psychology; coaching and counseling towards meaning and purpose in life. Her speaking, teaching & consulting is with a focus on personal and spiritual empowerment. Didi is a prolific, NYTimes best selling author and the editor of our program's core text: Call of Self, Psychosynthesis Life Coaching. Her work in coaching is primarily as a trainer, though she maintains a small coaching practice. Didi also offers ongoing advanced training and continuing education in psychosynthesis.
Peer Supervision Program Coaching Group
Our peer supervision psychosynthesis coaches participate in ongoing professional development and support in group supervision. With diverse backgrounds, speciality and interest areas this coaching group works both in private practice and as helping healing professionals.
Guest Teachers
Guest teachers offer workshops during our formal training calendar that suppliment our core coach training program. Our guest teachers include psychosynthesists and coaches from the realms of eco-psychology, somatic experiencing, social justice, systems theory, mindfulness practice, esoteric studies and more!
Continuing Education and Advanced Training
We offer our graduates and advanced students the opportunity to participate in Peer Supervision Groups and Creative Business Planning for Practice Programs, as well as advanced training and professional development.
